Van Gogh - tea towels pattern 3+5
by Studio Droog
* € 19,95 outside the EU
These tea towels come in four variations, in suggested sets of two. They are the starting piece of the tableware collection, since Van Gogh used tea towels as a canvas for some of his paintings. By printing each separate layer on a single tea towel, every element of the artwork is honoured with its own canvas.
This product is based on Landscape with Houses, 1890 by Vincent van Gogh.
At first sight 'Landscape with houses' looks like infinite lines that slur their way through the image, while changing form and colour. A closer look reveals a technical experiment; Van Gogh tested techniques and tones of blue by applying them over each other. Droog unraveled his 'organized chaos' into uniform and monochrome layers. Each separate colour is applied on individual tableware items. By combining the products, you can choose how chaotic or organized your table setting gets.
